CBSE Class 10 Formulae

CBSE Class 10 Maths and Science Formulae 2026-27

Find formulae chapter-wise and topic-wise for Class 10 Maths and Science. Choose your subject, chapter and topic once, then revise the exact formulae you need.

ChapterTopic

Quadratic Equations formulae

All Quadratic Equations formulae

Quadratic Equations

Standard Form and Roots

Roots and coefficients

$α + β = - \frac{b}{a}$ , $α β = \frac{c}{a}$

Useful for forming or checking a quadratic equation.

Quadratic Equations

Solving Methods

Quadratic formula

$x = \frac{- b \pm b ^{2} - 4 a c}{2 a}$

Use when factorisation is not quick or obvious.

Quadratic Equations

Nature of Roots

Discriminant

$D = b^{2} - 4 a c$

$D > 0$ : two real roots; $D = 0$ : equal roots; $D < 0$ : no real roots.

Quadratic Equations

Situational Problems

Useful check

$a x^{2} + b x + c = 0$

After forming the equation, check every term against the information in the problem.
